🚧 What did you do to your website today?

Well done! I’d have personally used something like that considering the overall style of your site rather than the solid line but that’s just me.

Updated my Subscribe page with a link to https://aboutfeeds.com/ — in case someone who isn’t familiar with feeds want to subscribe to my site. Was thinking about making a similar about page myself, but luckily I found that, so I don’t have to

I have updated my code snippet for responsive Disability Pride flag CSS background by using the CSS linear-gradient() function instead of an inline SVG:

Rewrote my about page, deleted a bunch of pages. Next step is to rewrite my entire CSS and port it from the current SASS structure to native CSS.

that’s a good idea, thanks Manu!

i did a few extra things on emma’s place

most of this was just fixing a few typos (i’ll probably find more) and making the h1 and <title> tags consistent where it was intentional for them to be

two noticeable changes would be

  • i added a faviocn that uses the heart emoji from the header logo
  • @Leilukin’s disability pride css inspired me to add a top border to my footer that uses the disability pride colors in a gradient, similar to how i currently do the nonbinary and bisexual pride colors on the site

for these two visual changes you may need to clear your cache while refreshing to notice them

Good to know my Disability Pride flag CSS has inspired you! Applying Pride flag colours to your website borders is a nice touch. :slightly_smiling_face:

I dropped by the indieweb.org IRC channel and was inspired to add an h-card to my front page. Guess I’ll eventually add microformats mark up to my posts lists and single posts, too. Not sure why, but why not :joy:

I’ve been slowly rebuilding my whole site using Eleventy over the past few weeks and finally published the update

Nice! Yay for another Eleventy user here! :meow_cheer:

Very nice! I feel like I remember reading about how you were hoping to implement a static site generator into your workflow at some point, so it’s really nice to see that you were able to accomplish that goal !!

Someday I hope to redo my blog subsite with eleventy, but I keep getting overwhelmed LOL. Chyrp Lite is nice, but I want to build my sites with tools that I have a decent understanding of, and I just understand static site pages over databases better.

Yay!!

Thanks! Indeed I wrote about that over the summer. I attempted it then, but I didn’t feel like I really understood what I was doing. I was just following tutorial steps.

I’m glad I came back to it in time. Suddenly a lot of it clicked, it was a very rewarding feeling.

Sometimes you need to let new knowledge simmer in your brain for a while.

I hope you can spend the time fiddling with it soon! To help with my overwhelm, I tried to start with only what I need, and work my way up.

i’ve been working on emma’s place throughout the week. the big changes include:

  • adding a changelog
  • adding a guestbook
  • adding a script to enlarge images
  • adding content to the music page (youtube links for some songs and content on playing music)

if you want to see all the little details in between this, i’d recommend looking at the changelog
