🚧 What did you do to your website today?

you should be able to click the sign guestbook link on the contact page. i’ll have to approve it but @Leilukin was able to leave a message. let me know if something isn’t working. i’ll see what is going on (or try to, i don’t know a ton about PHP yet)

I changed my header font. Hope it’s legible… I wanted something starry and playful.

i’ll have to work on the styling for replies since they bleed into previous comments a little that it would seem confusing if you weren’t aware i was replying to entries. but my eyes have been pretty worn out from staring at code all week so i will work on it at another time

I added The Stitch Stash to my back alley. It’s a page compiling some of the colourwork knitting patterns I’ve designed among other things knitting related.

I coded this whole thing within a day :sunglasses: :yarn:

This is delightful, I love the use of personal sites for this kind of stuff!! I don’t knit but I’d like to make a page for crochet patterns I like or have modified :3

I finally finished the code and static content for my new website ready for launch on the 1st of Jan. Here’s a sneak peek of one of the things I finally got around to adding.

Now I’m working on dynamic content so I have a bunch ready to go instead of getting frustrated that I don’t update often and abandoning my poor site.

Made a tutorial on how to make a consistent menu on a static website with JS! Once you have the JS linked in all your pages, you can just update the JS file to add a new link or whatever you like, and it will show up on all of your pages ^^ (rather than having to update every single page with the new link)

After trashing my incredibly brittle custom CMS back from a couple months ago, I’ve been building a new CMS that takes a different approach. It’s going really well, it is already far better than the old one, and I might even get to start using it before the end of the year. Would be great to not have to touch my website setup for a while!

I added a travel journal, though it’s more like an area that will collect my reflections and photos related to places I’ve been (less like describing places I’ve been). Kicking it off with a page about my trip to Phoenix, AZ, last weekend.

I am excited because this space is basically going to replace social media in my life, as I generally use it to share these types of photos and thoughts. I can already see a vast difference in how I felt sharing a link to people directly, vs posting on a sharing site and hoping people saw it. And now I get an added dynamic of posting on Neocities where anyone can see it, but only people who navigate to it on purpose (like if you clicked those links).

This is awesome! I like the simple design of the index page with just a teeny bit of animation + rainbow. The journal entry itself has a really nice, warm feel. Good write-up, cool cacti, & and the digital scrapbook at the end is fun.

I took a look at the photo album and was captivated, I have never actually watched footage of a self-driving car yet so yours is the first I’ve ever seen.

What a great trip! Your family did a good job of showing you a lot in just a few days. I live in the East Valley so I’m fairly close to Goldfield Ghost Town but I’ve never been there! Hopefully you’re back in Zenny’s good graces.

Footering about with CSS in between writing today, so far I’ve:

  • Re-ordered my stylesheet to make it less of a horrible jumble
  • Redone all of my common element styling and removed a lot of stuff that was causing conflicts
  • Tweaked colours
  • Written a couple more classes, made a few other minor changes

I’ve also added a fake ad div (stolen wholesale from this chap) to my home page to bug users running without one to install one. Quite devilish if I do say so myself.

Thanks! It was super bizarre and I still don’t know how to put it in words. My mom wanted to do it with me because she knew she wouldn’t ever do it alone :upside_down_face: I hope the cheesy ad music I found helped your experience

  • Content-Security-Policy
  • Permissions-Policy

switched from let’s encrypt to zerosll just to be different

they’re kinda overkill for personal sites anyways(the headers)

i did some updates to emma’s place

  • formatted guestbook replies better (will need to clear your cache for this probably)
  • added emma’s things to do a small but eventually growing list of things i would like to do, but different from my goals as you could pick one of these items to do to as they aren’t personal items for me (though if one of my goals is your goal too i hope you get to accomplish it as well one day!)
