šŸš§ What did you do to your website today?

So I uhhh keep forgetting to add my new sites here every time, but I made another site (surprise surprise) because I just wanted a way to put all the things I cant organize into my personas and just host my blog somewhere without cluttering Velvetā€™s Smoking Lounge.

(also note all my prior blog posts have been moved to this site, so if youā€™ve seen any old links floating around, it wonā€™t redirect to the site. Sorry about that)

And tbh also experiment on Nekoweb. Im not switching providers yet, but I just thought it would be nice to see how itā€™ll go

I noticed a nasty frontend bug on onecatper.day where the contents of the page wouldnā€™t fill up the body of the document at a certain point. I made use of flexbox and particularly flex-grow and flex-shrink to better resize the 3 main sections on the page to take care of that

Well, I made it!

Did some digging on @starbreaker website and decided to register a domain and a site with NearlyFreeSpeech, and also created a homepage and navbar after a ton of inspiration from the website that this article that starbreaker had sent my way.

The website is https://thefinalsemicolon.com/ and I am super excited to continue to flesh it out

I added a mantras page and some other placeholder pages that I will eventually fill out.

I also think I have the CSS in a spot I will be comfortable with for a while.

I like your mantras page! A unique idea for a page ^^ I have a few things I have to repeat to myself too, mostly to combat my social anxiety. Maybe I will make a blog post or something about them

Not directed towards you, but the general thread: I did make a guide on CSS variables today!

Wrote it last night on my notes app and just published it today on my blog Things I tell Myself which also happens to qualify as what I did to my website today! I credit you at the end of the post for inspiration ^^ Just a warning that it does heavily discuss social anxiety, but in a recovery way not a doomer way.

Im super stoked about this one, I spent a few days just on the illustrations alone. Iā€™m going through a style change so this is the start of many things to come. Also no image map this time around, Im not too good at JQuery in order to make hover effects, so itā€™s just plain divs

Thank you! It was my favourite part about making the whole thing, I loved putting in all those little details and symbolism

I got to read the post last night, and was super flattered by the shout out! It makes me happy that my website has motivated you to explore parts of yourself and share that! Was an awesome read!

Finished my landing page to fit my new art style and a lil pizzazz to the new layout Iā€™m planning on making. Not my best work, but at least itā€™s done

Okay I swear this is my LAST update for today. I moved my pixel clique, Eau De Parfum Parlour to Cosy Diner. I also cleaned up the layout so it was more organized and easier to add your entries in. If youre interested, go ahead and add more to the collection.

I implemented a way to have <details> work inside my blog posts without having to mix markdown and html (not a fan of doing that)

You can see it in action here Guestbook ā€“ Manu

I changed my background color. Iā€™m still fiddling with it; should it be a bit darker?

Iā€™d love to know how youā€™ve figured that out!
Iā€™m thinking about finding out a way to implement html elements like the <details> tag onto my blogposts as well for stuff like spoilers & long tangents. It could also be really helpful for other parts of my site. :grinning:
