Heck yeah sandwiches.

I’m on a path to get off of streaming services, at least partly. Starting with music.

My uncle’s dog who lives in our family durian plantation had given birth to her second litter of puppies in December 2025. We just got the chance to see the new puppies during Lunar New Year!

Ty for stopping by! I think my blog comment system doesn’t really notify via email – but ACNH terraforming is very tedious and takes a long time HA HA. They’ve implemented slight quality of live improvements (I’m able to make my character face a cardinal direction and hold down a button to make it stick) but ultimately I think they still want players to take breaks from playing.

I’ll be checking out and following your blog too!

(To the 32bit community: I’m sorry for the double post! I meant to hit reply but I think I messed it up and then deleted my post… user error on my part as I try to get used to Discourse…)

same, I ditched Spotify close to two years ago now and havent looked back. I also collect CDs and listen to them but I havent found a good organization system for my MP3/FLAC files on PC yet, theyre sort of messily thrown about some folders. I also have a Fiio, but it’s an Echo Mini, totally agree that a dedicated device is leagues ahead!

As someone from the global south who speaks english, plenty of ā€œoportunitiesā€ to train AI models have come up in the past few years. There are no other requirements for these positions other than ā€œspeak english fluently and have internet accessā€ most of the times.
Its usually very vague job descriptions that immediately raise a red flag. I know of acquaintances who previously had no ties to tech who now work in this field full time. I guess none of them in this dire of a situation, the pay for my country is slightly better but still below what would he expected for a laborer in the US or Europe. But to me this is no different than hiring customer service and so many other jobs to third world countries for the past century.

I’m lucky enough to have never been that desperate, but I know Im not immune to this situation, so it does hit hard to learn more abt it.

Boom. Weekly posts continue… I actually did 3 posts this week, the first two were the Tiddler dev logs.

This is my weekly wrap up:

I also fell down a small rabbithole about dithering so posted a few links related to that.

Also more Tiddler screenshots!

The FiiO JM21 looks really neat! I’m still getting by with my music stored on my phone, but I’ll have to look into this player if storage becomes an issue. I like it that is has a balanced 4.4mm input. (I got REALLY excited for a second and thought it was 1/4ā€, but that was my stupid hybrid metric/imperial Canadian brain forgetting that 1/4ā€ jacks are actually 6.35mm).

Thanks for sharing. I’m glad it’s not something you’ve had to consider; it sounds like absolutely terrible work (and I say this as someone who has an extremely mentally and physically gruelling job – but at least mine is well-compensated). One thing I didn’t get into in the post that is utterly insane to me is the way these companies monitor the work being done by tracking keyboard strokes, mouse movement, and the like. No wonder people who take these jobs feel like they can’t take a break or even sleep… The work should be compensated by the hour, and not by the number of tasks completed.

Yeah, a friend of mine almost got a job where one of the requirements was having a webcam… to be on at all times. So they could check if he was at his desk working. Insane stuff. And lots of people unfortunately have to take jobs like that.

The Weekly Wrap Up is posted! Links this week include a children’s storybook explaining the process of decay using delightful illustrations, a journey that started with internet domain name collecting and ended with a business selling onions and Romeo! Juliet! And Godzilla?? I talk about postcarding and putting together whistle kits. I wax nostalgic about Mardi Gras and try to pass along some life advice. The Link Lagniappe is back! Plus, as usual, I listened to, read and watched things.

On my MP3-player and on my music server I store files in folders by Artist and then by Album for each artist. Apart from that I have a Soundtracks folder for movie- and gaming soundtracks. Does the job.

I made a post about a series of indie rock albums that were released in the ā€˜aughts that have been a favorite of mine for a while. They were put under the Creative Commons license, so I’ve included links for downloading them as well:

This was a really unproductive week, so I got two posts up:

  1. A general updates post, about reading more RSS feeds, expectations for the next month, writing blog posts and playing Cat CafƩ Manager: Workspace, mindspace & internet stuff | The Folkmoss Logs

  2. A post about letting go of books in my TBR: Outgrowing your TBR | The Folkmoss Logs

There’s more stuff on my notes and photos feeds, but I barely consider those blog posts.

Oooh, loved your post on the outgrowing the TBR. I have an endless TBR (also: To be watched for tv shows) and I don’t think I will ever get around to them. So true about being a different person and looking back on those picks… I also love the size of your Boox Palma!
