I finally did the intelligent thing and set up a separate test environment apart from my live website for improving the CMS I use, ComicControl. The big project I intend to tackle now is redoing all of its CSS to make a friendlier default site template for non-CSS using comic creators.
finished a (relatively minor) makeover for my projects page! no longer simply a list, now it’s much more jazzed up!
i’m going to have my itch bundle game reviews and my bl recs linked in my fandom section, which i’m reworking next, instead of “projects”. i think it’s a bit more intuitive (to me)
MelonLand has banners now, so I added my own to the rotation, and then added the banner code to the footer of my blog.
I also finally finished my Interests and Personal Canon pages. (Okay, the Personal Canon page isn’t technically done, since I still need to add descriptions to the items, but at least it’s not sitting in my drafts anymore.)
new homepage layout not for the fool day
it objectively fails to meet several criteria I consider essential on my Web sites, I love it, and I’m keeping it (for now).
UPDATE: all the other pages now look similar, but are easier to read. (One column made to look like a large version of the homepage “windows”, larger font).
Looks cool!
I may have winced a little when nothing happened after clicking the little X’s. Okay, I may have spam clicked them a lot.
Oo, I should make something happen when the Xs get clicked. Not closing the windows, of course. Maybe color changes.
OMG I totally forgot to post yesterday but I made a shrine for Miitomo! I miss that game. I tried installing a patched version that was supposed to run on a fan server but sadly it stopped working after like, a day. Oh well.
Anyway I mostly made the shrine to archive my silly MiiFotos from the app!
You can check it out under “Shrine Stash” → “Miitomo” on my site! :3
I have changed the default font family of my website from Lexend to Readex Pro, and added a /uses page:
I l’ve added a new page to my website to share things I’ve saved for long-term archiving:
I was having a chat in my writers group, and the topic of fanfiction got brought up: so I polished up my media page some, (mostly to sprinkle around pink to draw attention to section dividers/titles) and added a category way down at the bottom for fanfiction: since I imagine it’ll grow out of hand quite quickly, what with the attached personal notes, and all. I may move this to its own subpage in the future, but for now it’s sitting pretty with the rest of the media I’ve engaged with recently.
ahh I love r/hobbydrama too!
oh this is inspiring! do you archive past media elsewhere or just keep it kind of current?
I haven’t really kept a log long enough to stumble across that particular roadblock- if it becomes unwieldy for me to update, I imagine I’ll just start making subpages to archive it roughly by the year or so! I only started tracking from the start of this year- otherwise I’d have a whole whack load of books from my personal bookcase to add to the list. Only adding new/recent experiences has been good passive motivation for me to engage more with media that I want to: I put off watching Hannibal for a decade, because of making time for myself such a low priority for years.
i started my website using a free layout from teppy. recently i decided i wanted more responsiveness so i started from scratch using css grid to mimic teppy’s layout. so far i’ve completed grid versions of my home page and credits page. i still have 6 more pages to go. but im really happy with how its turning out. (it has also been a lot of fun figuring things out) :)
I added a resources page to share free knowledge resources. Here.
I updated my fan wiki for one of my favorite meme creatures, Doro. It’s so fun just writing up info as if it was a real animal / if I was in the world itself! I made a cute lil button for it too. Here’s my Doropedia if you’d like to take a look :]
Further work on my Hugo overhaul:
- I made some new favicons!
- Got some illustrations and videos done for the rewritten writing. I still have 3 quick illustrations left to do, one animation left and one process video left to make.
Actually… I don’t need that many illustrations and animations to still make the writing useful.
So you know what?
I’ve launched the new Hugo overhaul. That is one less thing I have to be distracted by now!
