I just gave it a read. Fun stuff! Iāve worked Iām optics for 5 years now and I still find distraction absolutely magical
Reminds me that I should probably start writing about my actual optics work on my site

You totally should!! Websites are perfect for niche knowledge!
Solaria, your rainbow science website is so cool. I was able to understand most of this despite not having a background in any of the sciences, you do a good job of conveying technical information in an clear manner.
Also I like the thumbnails on your homepage. It makes me think of old science sites from the early 2000s.
I published my first bit of Scavengers Reign meta where I over-analyze a vinyl record case and show how little I know about proper record care, lol.
If you have not yet watched Scavengers Reign and intend to this page does contain spoilers, so tread carefully.
Also, while coding this page I figured out how to fit images in two responsive columns. Itās a bit of code that had been troubling me for months and Iām very happy I found the fix.
Okay huge update for Studio Luxe. A few elements arenāt polished on mobile, but it still works on smaller devices. Iām really happy with what Iāve accomplished in such a short amount of time.
To be honest working on Luxeās site forced me to go against what I usually do in terms of any creative hobby (My instincts are; flashy presentation, relying heavily on visuals, pushing myself beyond the limits, and forcing myself to do something new all the time, rather than doing it well)
Omg thank you so much!!!
Im glad to hear itās readable for someone less familiar!! I often want to understand subjects better but there tends to be a huge empty pit between introductory basics for babies and research paper for professionals who understand everything in the subject already. So I try to explain more complex things in a way thatās friendly to people who donāt know all the stupid terms. It helps that I am not an expert myself so I kinda go by how I managed to understand it in my head
I just hope my repitition of things on my pages isnāt too annoying ^^; I often miss things when reading or forget, so for my site I often repeat key ideas Just In Case
Moved my site off github to the gitea hosted here :D
after a couple days of work, iāve finished my remodel of my public domain art hoard! still using melonās gallerymaker, but i did a lot more fucking around with it this time (obviously lol). this version is all one page! neocitiesās code editor isnāt happy about that, but not AS unhappy about it as it is with the entirety of moby dick at least hahaha.
in addition to the remodel, iāve added a āpic of the dayā feature - in the form of an embeddable iframe! in case anybody else wants one
Finally migrated to my own custom domain!
Now for the hard part. Migrating my readers
I made a credits/colophon page for my website. I wanted to have a central place where I keep track of all the stuff I used to help build my space. I also like having a log of where my base code came from. Itās deviated far from its original source, but I do not want to forget those roots.
For something more science oriented like this I think the repetition helps. Also Iād say youāve done a good job of fitting your explanations in the layperson sweet spot. I didnt feel talked down to and comfortably challenged by the terms and symbols you were using.
Itās been a couple days since honestly, but I did add three new plushies to my plushies collection page.
I think Iām going to have to admit to having a squishmallow addiction soon. >_>;
I was getting a bit irked by how cluttered my page for blog posts was starting to look- and I knew that it would only continue to grow more unruly with time, since I post on it fairly often. So I went ahead and gave it a bit of a manicure: had some fun playing around with styling the table, and Iām satisfied with how it came out. Much easier for me to skim through the entries if I feel so inclined- and itās more compact, which is more aesthetically pleasing to me.
I fiddled around with a table again to make a little writing challenge progress tracker for myself.
I had to fumble around troubleshooting some problems I ran into. Like, how to stick on a longer cell at the top instead of awkwardly ruining the sizing of the weekly cells by trying to split up the title across a few to try to centre it [1], and how to selectively style cells to āeraseā them since 100 doesnāt split into 7 nicely. I had to also dig around into the siteās CSS file as a whole to tweak the default blockquote color, which was a solution that took an embarrassingly long time to figure out.
Nothing technically impressive technowizardry-wise, but difficult for me, as someone who is flailing around blindly with CSS and HTML, so Iām proud of myself for piecing it together.
I wrote a reminder at the top, mostly for myself as to the intent of this page- and decorated with some cute pictures and a little motivational one at the bottom for fun, too.
[1] Just realized I could do the same thing to tweak the clunky solution Iād been using on my blog posts page, so Iāve gone ahead and also fixed that. :-)
Updated my Cassette Beasts shrine in light of the news and announcements from Cassette Beasts Showcase 2025, specifically by updating the Facts page and adding a new article about the character who will be the focus of the next content update to Cassette Beasts:
I added a comment section to all my blog posts! How exciting :D Try it out below

i stared at my site for a long while thinking about all the things i wanted to do with it and then i did none of those things :)
Added a new recipe (stuffed bell peppers!).
