šŸš§ What did you do to your website today?

I built my Bookbug page over the past couple days and finished it late last night (technically this morning)! Iā€™m waiting to hear back on if Iā€™ve been accepted into the club, but thatā€™s not going to stop me from reading and reviewing this monthā€™s book :V

emmaā€™s place has had some more changes. these are the first for the new year!

youā€™ll definitely want to clear your cache for this update, a lot of it is appearance focused

  • nav bar links have been condensed. the life of emma section has been made into two category pages. this is in anticipation of future pages that will fit into both categories. care has been put into navigation. visiting a page in the category allows you to return to the top of that page, and also return to the page that is a category containing that page and related pages
  • the right border on the nav bar has been changed due to me figuring out me more and my borders being pride flag related
  • iā€™m in my pink era. so the page background color, and scrollbar colors have been updated. certain green colors have been left as they work fine i think
  • iā€™m using grid properties like align-items and align-content on the body to better adjust the layout of the page rather than relying so much on the height of elements

there is some writing on the site that needs to be updated. but iā€™ve done enough for now because my brain has rewarded me with a headache

Looking stylish so far. Keep at it once youā€™re feeling better.

I changed some css on the tidning-page. Now I use column-count rather than making the columns myself ā€“ very convenient!! Iā€™ve yet to change all the other pages but will be doing so as soon as possible. Especially the long form-page, since itā€™s lookingā€¦ some way or another atmā€¦

In other news I have officially made a site for my friend and I :) Itā€™s far from perfect (like if your screen is too tall it doesnā€™t function properly, for example) and hasā€¦ nothing much on it as of yet. However, itā€™s been made and Iā€™m happy with it! The look I was going for was ā€œalbum coverā€ ish and I think I nailed that actually :3

today I finally updated my site after several months of not doing anything. First i did some wireframes to figure what layout I want but right now Im just putting my site on nekowebs and Im trying to figure out how VS Studio is correctly reflecting what the site supposed to look like but nekowebs isnt? quite upsetting :smiling_face_with_tear:

If you want to start a thread in the help section with your siteā€™s url and post full-size screenshots of how your site looks in VS vs Nekoweb, we might be able to help.

I made a big update to my old website version archive browser over the weekend. Previously it was just a list of links, itā€™s pretty nice to see all the thumbnails now!

https://version.stefanbohacek.dev

(Apologies for the lack of alt text, and other possible accessibility issues, still working on this!)

A four-column grid showing thumbnails of old versions of my personal website. The text above the grid reads: StefanBohacek.com Version Browser 2.0 I created my first personal website, StefanWithoutAnEnd.sk in February 2009. In May 2011 I moved to a new domain, FourTonFish.com. And finally, in 2022 I switched to StefanBohacek.com. Note that some images, fonts, links, and certain other features may not work. Visit the current version of the site

I had two different accounts at the same web host, one for my partner and one for me. Then the host changed around their account offerings and raised prices, which made having everything on one account the most economical option.

Today I started the process of moving everything over. One of my sites, which had been on my partnerā€™s account for load-balancing purposes, was easy to move over. It was a subdomain at one account and now itā€™s a subdomain at the other account. Since itā€™s the same host I donā€™t even have to mess with any DNS settings.

My partnerā€™s site is another matter, since itā€™s the primary domain for the account I canā€™t remove it. The good news is they donā€™t really use it. So I can afford to cancel the account, wait for them to take it down, and then restore it.Then everything will be back up and running at its new home.
