yeah my close friend is persian and while my friend doesn’t live there, seeing their homecountry being bombed, understandably, angers me.

It’s your website, and your anger is valid, which is why I haven’t objected to the geoblock as strenuously as I might have done. While I don’t appreciate the implication that mere US citizenship makes me complicit in the actions of its government – especially since I didn’t vote for those assholes (by which I mean the entire conservative movement and the oligarchs and corporations funding them, not merely Trump and his cronies) – I know better than to take what you wrote personally.

And, frankly, it would be quite justifiable for the civilized world to impose economic sanctions on the USA given the actions of its government.

Or, for that matter, for them to invade the US, impose regime change, and introduce democracy. /s Turnabout is fair play, after all.

it doesn’t make you specificially complicit, i phrased it wrong.

i’ve changed up a bit the geoblock message it now says the following:

riri.my has been blocked in the united states

i’ve decided not to make this content available in your region.
due to your dumb president’s attack on iran, your goverment us complicit in israel’s war crimes.

until things change in ways that matter, i cannot under my freedom of conscience allow you to visit my website. be mad at the orange madman, not at me.

can someone here help me find a blog post (that I cant’ remember if it was posted here or not).

It was an older looking site of some guy who had been running the site for quite a long time and he blogged about either his time in the Vietnam or Korean war? And he also had a bunch of stories about girls he’s dated over his life.

The site was super minimal and perhaps didn’t have any color at all

As per usual I’ve got a lot of catching up to do in this thread… Anyway, I’ve tried to get active writing again…

Book Report: The Dream Hotel is an unsettling book about what direction we’re heading with mass data collection by the corporates and how it will impact us (and not in a good way). Relevant to the convo earlier from concretelunch…

Hitting Up The Gym Again being in a state of halfway between moving city and away from my family has been draining on my mental state, so I joined the gym again.

Congratulations! I’m more of a Debian and Slackware fan, but if you’re happy with Fedora and Linux Mint more power to you!

Thanks! I do like Debian, and I still use it (specifically the stable version) on my VPS.

That makes sense. Debian (especially Debian Unstable) as a desktop OS might not be the Linux equivalent of playing Dark Souls, but it’s not without its pitfalls.

If you learn to play an instrument, must you spend the rest of your life as a fisherman?

I think you overlooked something in your ā€œWho Owns Your Talent?ā€ post, but I’m finding it amusing to imagine how that would look like.

Also, congratulations on adopting a new name!
