Yeah but to get there you have to be bored first, or maybe people jump right from interacting with something to daydreaming/making up ideas? I dont know, but I dont think they do. I guess maybe we find ābeing boredā to mean different things? To me itās usually a restless feeling thatās not being affected by external stimuli and its essential to really get into a deep thinking zone because I donāt have any alternatives.

Same here, for the most part. Youāve got nothing to do, and youāre wide awake, so youāre alert. I guess my real gripe is treating enduring boredom like itās a flex. I remember a time where we had no other choice but to endure boredom in many situations. We donāt have to anymore, so why should we? Personally, I donāt want to go back to the days where thereās no other choice. Itās one of the reasons why I work in warehouses; thereās always something to do. And during that menial work, the brain doesnāt shut off. Thereās still contemplation, creative thinking, memory management, etc. Itās like occupying your time while allowing your brain to compute in the background.

Thats very true, but the brain is quite preoccupied when youre watching/reading/listening to something, which isnāt bad at all, it just doesnāt have to be your every waking moment is what Iām saying.

This is so nice, I love the name Font Lonesome haha. I recently removed Material Symbols from one of my sites where I was using it for (several cases of) a single up arrow ā¦ really took me 4 years to conclude that I could just use a Unicode one instead of embedding an entire symbol font

Love reading about your language learning adventures! Youāve taken on far more than I could. Iām only learning Spanish and Latin at the moment, and my attempts at it wane every now and then. Iām terrible at keeping up with my flash cards, so I try to immerse myself whenever I can. Good luck on your Chinese studies!
