I’ve been interested in this sort of tech for a while, particularly Meshtastic, and this is a fun video that introduces cheapish projects (plus a small crash course in anarchism).
Something like Meshtastic isn’t a direct alternative to internet-based text communication like Discord (or even SMS), but wow is it cool that people are communicating across open source networks using radio waves. (And without a ham radio license!)
