Never seen this one before. I’m always down to fill some random survey
Huh, thus was really intresting!
As someone who learned how to design surveys though, I will pick a bone with question/item 18, as it is vaugely worded. After changing my answer on it a few times to see how it’d change my score, I suspect that the way I interpreted it differs a lot from what the writers originally intended. This was further confirmed when seeing what personality trait the item was meant to measure. Not what I was expecting, to say the least. (Though, I do know this wasn’t made by the website creator - so not much they can do!)
Ramblings aside, I do think this is a helpful (if limited!) tool for personal reflection. I’ll also poke around the rest of the site to see what else it may have.
Edit: oh yeah, forgot to mention I got whining rotter lol
It’s definitely obviously a product of its time. I don’t know exactly how old it is, but if it’s 70 years from the copyright date of 2018, it’s really no surprise the questions are worded they way they are!
Anyway, I’m a liberal airhead. Tell me something I don’t already know.
interesting quiz, definitely unsurprised about getting liberal airhead as well
well, question 24 has the note “[You’ll have to pretend it is 1946 when you answer this one.]” so I assume that’s when it was written.
Gotta say, question 28 hits different since covid. The presumption “different kinds of people move around and mix together so much” is obviously racist and I disagree with it, but “a person has to protect himself especially carefully against catching an infection or disease” is, well, life now. At least for those people who still remember that covid isn’t over. The question is really about xenophobia and imagined “diseases” from “outsiders” though.
Whining rotter here, and proud of it.
I think this test confirmed my PTSD and schizophrenia diagnoses.
also got whining rotter. Also question 18: “Nowadays more and more people are prying into matters that should remain personal and private” maybe initially suggested that caring about other’s troubles is too “tender-minded” or “subjective” the quiz’s wording LOL. But in the hyper-online oversharing culture of now it reads different. It’s bad to know too much private info about people becuz it’s not safe and also parasocial. So thats interesting.
Whining rotter here too…
As was said, this survey is obviously very much a product of its time - and much of the less than subtle stance hard to stomach - but looking at the world today, this kind of rhetoric wouldn’t be out of place * gestures at everything burning *
