Telesoftware

I have no idea why telesoftware popped into my head, but it was interesting It was a method of transmitting computer software using the television or radio back in the 1980s.

I don’t think it made it to the US but several European countries tried it. There was a program called Tomorrow’s World which was just great, and in 1981 they demonstrated it. Later on Teletext did something similar and then the BBC had some computer literacy programs on very late at night and they did it as well.

The computers supported were the Spectrum ZX, Apple II, Acorn BBC Micro and a couple of others.

I always wished that I could see one in action, I love weird retro experiments like that!
