Idk guys this is all too long for me to read, but there is some weird “he said, she said” thing going on with the Syncthing-Fork app for android and Questions Raised about whether it’s safe
I wish F-Droid would let you choose a cooldown period for updates, which would address a lot of the concerns raised here…
It does look worryingly like the xz library debacle. I’m just not in any hurry to suspect or accuse F-Droid of mishandling the situation. Their track record so far is pretty damn good.
Yeah I am not in love with the finger-pointing and blame shifting going on in those (very long) threads… The researchxxl guy definitely sets off alarm bells for me in terms of his tone/rapid-fire engagement though…

I use SyncThing to sync my Obsidian vaults to my phone. 
I know, right? I felt so leet hacker for using F-Droid this whole time… The “several layers of tinfoil hats” take is that Google intentionally is poisoning F-Droid projects with malware and FUD in order to win the narrative on their whole project of banning sideloading
