I made a gif button in support of the Institute of Museum and Library Services, which has been under threat lately.
I Made this one for my origami project page ( daily.tsurunomundo.com.br ) using Resprite on an iPad Pro
![]()
I upload photos of origami cranes daily there so I ended coding a feature that generates GIFs for each photo. I’m not allowed to attach multiple images here but you can see you can see them if you visit the page
my wbesite has 3 buttons!

Anyone’s welcome to use these to link to their relevant sites if they like!
ooh very nice! i have some of these linked, delighted to have buttons for them. i’ve thought about making buttons for sites that dont have them before but have been far too lazy haha. what program do you use for gifmaking?
Thank you! I enjoy making them and sometimes I just get the ‘bug’ to do it. As for gifmaking, I use a combination of photoshop for the frames, and both Ezgif.com and GIMP depending on what I need to do with my gifs.
Very nice! This is now the button I use to link to 32-Bit Cafe on my website: :)
Some PBS buttons I made today while heartaching about the defunding ![]()
![]()
(Psst, Americans, if you’re reading this on July 17th, it’s not too late to call your representative for a last ditch effort to save public media…)
Maybe I’m being too sanguine, but doesn’t PBS get most of its funding from sources other than the US government? Sure, there are corporations and grants, but also donations from people like you and me.
The end of federal funding could be a blessing in disguise if public broadcasters can muster the courage to use their voices and platforms to oppose the regime. Why shouldn’t NPR become a resistance broadcaster, for example?
I finally made a button, wooooo
![]()
That’s a fair question! PBS National only gets a small percentage of its funding from the government, but individual stations rely on that funding much more. The station I work at gets 48% of our funding from the federal government, and being in a rural and conservative area, that’s close to a million dollars that there is no way we’re going to be able to make up in local donations.
There’s nothing we want more than to keep going despite this setback- that’s fully what we intend on doing. But fact of the matter is that we have bills to pay, expensive equipment to maintain and update, and salaries to pay for full time employees and several contractors. Furthermore, if we did just say “Fuck it” and start broadcasting more controversial political content, we would lose whatever local donations we do have pretty quick. (Believe me, I wish it were possible!!!)
That said, I made these buttons not just to encourage people to call for our funding to be reinstated, but also to remind people that they CAN donate- or for if people just want to show a little support to a cause that I’m personally very passionate about ![]()
(Apologies if any of that didn’t make sense, I’m not a PBS spokesperson, just a humble small station employee! I’d love to chat more about the topic… probably in a more appropriate place for it than the buttons thread LOL)
It’s fine, and I already do my part by donating to local public broadcasters in my area.
I’m working on some pixel art in support of public media.
