Iāve only been in it for a year, but so far I have seen the line drawn at (obviously) gross, bigoted behavior (an employee fired for some nasty anti-Semitic ranting) but not at non-threatening criticism of elected officials and, as weāre currently in a union battle, district and state leadership. I get emails lately reminding me that my voice (and job) is protected in criticizing choices made by district leadership - my big big bosses.
And yes, I loved that post! I linked to it in this blog. I sure hope thatās enough, but Iāve also watched people with pseudonyms get doxxed and crucified by right-wing twitter accounts who made someoneās (not even that spicy!) views an employerās problem. (This happened at a university where I worked.) What I worry about is pressure campaigns in which an employer gets too much attention from twitter activists (by using LLMS to be able to say āCompany X hires NINETY members of ANTIFAā or whatever and itās justā¦ people critical of the government)
Aha, I remember our exchange now :). Good point about the novel ability to summon an angry mob via LLM bots, yet another way in which the consequences of audacious speech have been heightened in a way that still technically confirms to the letter of the lawā¦

ooh weird. kyle drake isnāt a blogger or especially socially active online (although he does post on bsky & regularly updates neocitiesās github), but iirc he does sometimes respond to emails (especially if itās about major issues), so it might be worth sending him an email about it! and/or doing a github issue or pull requrest about it. i wonder if screenjesus is responsible for some of the notoriously inflated hit counts on neocitiesā¦
I use Jellyfin for my private media collection and while itās mostly very accurate with automatic metadata, with the Finnish Moomin seasons it fails because some episodes were skipped from the original when brought to Finland. I also wanted my Moomin information in Finnish because I ripped my old DVDs to Jellyfin so I can watch them with my nephews.
Good thing is, you can provide your own nfo files for the metadata so I wrote a shell script, a Javascript snippet and a Python script to create the files. A little bit of programming knowledge goes a long way in helping with small daily tasks.
In this weekās tiara post, Iām taking a look at five Sapphire Tiaras for September. One has beetles, one is inspired by a prehistoric-looking plant and one was involved in a scandal. The other two are normal, just not typical. You all know I go for the unusual.
Hello :3 I finally finished my sticker tutorial blog post. I was putting off posting it because it feels confusing to read buttttt Iām not going to get better at writing unless I just do it lol. In the future after Ive written more I can revisit it and make it better.

I finished a quick cross stitch project but Iām having mixed feelings about it, I shout out a couple of web events, I ponder the possibility of spinning off the jeweled and tiara posts into their own blog and I was approached by an AI agent (because of a post of mine it read here on 32-Bit Cafe!). Plus, as usual, I listened to, read and watched things.
After like 7 months, I finally managed to write another Phone Review for my website! This time covering the quirky NEC e808, one of the first 3G phones in Europe!
