My latest is a long, sort of meandering post on Alan Wake 2, and the awesome way in which the developers weave live action footage into the game: https://aetheranne.ca/blog/gaming/alan-wake-2-mixed-media-done-right/ I love mixed media when it’s done right!

Mine is just a simple announcement for my newly published my “7 years of Mini Stories” book: My new micro-fiction book is available for purchase by Bruno Bernardino (no AI).

Now I’ll start (manually) translating it to Portuguese, so it’ll probably be a while until my next post.

Idea; I thought this thread would be great in my feed reader, and discovered that you can get an rss feed by adding .rss to the end of the url.

I scrambled to finish some drafts yesterday to finish out “blaugust”, so these are technically for August, but I will share them here.

The positive reception to my concert write-up for The Beths motivated me to finish my blog post about the Death Cab concert I went to the week before;

This looks like a fun date night! I rarely get around to watching movies anymore. For my stage of life, books are actually easier.

I’m going to suggest my all-time favorite movies in your guestbook, in case you haven’t seen them. :)

I discovered an interesting article arguing against viewpoint diversity, and agreed with the premise but not how they slighted a philosophical framework I’m partial to… so I ended up writing a bit of a response to it, which feels weird because they’re an academic professor and my response is sophomoric in comparison. Ah well!

I have built a Magic the Gathering Battle Box that is a self-contained gaming environment for quick two player gaming. And as a bit of a organising geek, I’ve put a lot of thought into how I store it and what other knickknacks I need with it.

I am hosting the IndieWeb Fiction Carnival this month, on the topic “Moonlight”. I wrote about it here in case anyone would like to participate: IndieWeb Fiction Carnival September 2026: Moonlight - with words, wonder :sparkles:

It’s Wednesday, which means it’s time for some sparkle! This week’s tiara is the Garden of Impressionism Tiara.

Also, I posted a final Blaugust post on Monday.

I wrote a blog about the past month, I’ve just been buying so many games that I care about as I started getting more attached to physical media. I also bought a Game boy camera and took some cute pictures with it

Strictly speaking, I submitted this for the Back 2 School prompt, but I wanted to share here as well since I think this essay turned out quite well. (and I really care about it!)

its just permanently buried and lost in the sea of people better than you

It’s important to understand that the metric in places like Bubbles is not based on any kind of meritocracy or idea that some posts that come out on the top are better than others.

In any platform like this, it’s a popularity contest: if you have somewhat large audience and you encourage them to upvote your posts in Bubbles (or even provide a direct way to do that from your post like a like button), you’re more likely to bubble up the top.

It’s really really unlikely that a new blog with no outside influence of building audience quickly bubbles up to the top even if it’s fantastic.

My advice for using those platforms is to only ever go to the page with new posts in chronological order.

I have quite a significant readership on my blog but I get 0 likes or comments in Bubbles because I don’t feel the need to drive traffic from my blog to Bubbles.

(edit. I hope it’s okay to have discussions in these threads, someone can let me know if these are just for sharing)
