Reject Convenience on YT -- thoughts? :O

I recently came across this channel on youtube (I know, but listen - cognitively I just find some Google services easier. Trying to be privacy concious w/ a disability is hard!)

I was really intrigued by both the topic of the channel (privacy, convenience, etc) and the way that things were explained. I consider myself fairly tech savvy but actually really appreciated the simplification of some things that I just don’t know much about.

I thought I’d throw it to the metaphorical wolves here - thoughts, if anyone knows the channel or gives it a watch from this thread? :O
(And for mods: if there’s a policy against yt links or a better spot for videos, please let me know!)

this kind of stuff is interesting. channels like these really nail in how corrupt everything pertaining to the big technology industry really is. they don’t really see people, they just see numbers and dollar signs.

watching stuff like this, personal web videos, social media and search engine alternatives, truly hammer in how much better the small web is, for the psyche, the people, and overall.

I’ve been watching his stuff for a while now! I really enjoy how he explains stuff and his style of videos.
I also like how he adds to his points, he mentions something in one video but then expends on it in another when he realized he breezed over something that shouldn’t have been breezed over. (cookies is one example)
He actually presents tools to follow through what he talks about and not just talks to the air.
And I like that while he is all about rejecting convenience, he understands it’s just not a possibility for everyone and there are levels to it.

so yeah I enjoyed a lot of his stuff so far!

There’s also a forum: Reject Convenience Forum - Reject Convenience Forum

It’s quieter than this one, but I’ve gotten some good info from it.

oooh the forum, I’ll have to look into when I have more time! I love a good forum.

I’m glad y’all are vibing w/ his stuff like I did!
I agree that he does really good work by adding to his points - it seems like he’s motivated by irl conversations and those are really good at finding weak points for tech discussions, imo.

One of my favourite little study tips is that if I can’t teach it, I don’t get it - and he’s a great example of exactly that. He gets it so well he can take it to a simplistic level and that’s a great skill!!
