Really appreciate this take. I read the post that prompted this one and was saddened by the conflation of implementing web mentions with the indie web. As long as you’ve got a personal site, you can be part of the indie web. It’s that simple. Everything else is extra, and there are tons of folks who are willing to help if we get stuck with those extras.
