What’s going on, Internet? What did you do to your website today?
I added an incomplete list of books I read in 2024. Both early reading lists now have links next to books I’ve discussed on my blog, so people can see what I thought.
I made a page with links to online resources where you can get books for free (and legally) with some explanations and tips. This was a page I’d made for my unpublished site, but since I’ve decided to stick with Bearblog for now, I posted it there… so technically not really new.
I actually made my very first template :D i cooked very slowly with ideas for themes but id like to give more of them a shot
Added my recently acquired cookbooks (four of them!) to my book collection page. That’s all.
i added some cute graphics to each page because it was getting a bit text heavy even for me. i also added a meta page because i don’t have enough about the site itself that it really needs to be broken into different pages, so everything i want to include about the site itself will go there for now
Love the kitty on the old school stereo!
This week I:
- added a new kitty to the Kitty Friends Pixel Club
- updated my reading log for the month of October
- added the Museum of Obsolete Media to the Fun Links page
- updated the Blog Links (list of the links I post at the beginning of my blog posts) so it’s current as of this week
i made an in-universe forum page!
finished my second template!! i definitely need a break after this though …
I’ve been making my website theme from scratch. I had previously used a Hugo theme and did my own layouts, but I wasn’t happy with it so I’ve been starting over. Mine is a bit more ‘brand-y’ (and buzzword-y) now, but I’m also on the job market and am working hard at tracking down opportunities. I’ll spend time tomorrow and Wednesday working at filling out more of what was on it before.
As for now, it looks really rough on mobile, but at least it’s nice enough on desktop.
I built the color scheme around my wardrobe. My favorite outfit is in my avatar; a nice pair of brown pants, a navy button down, and beige chelsea boots with an olive green coat. It looked nice for a site too.
Playing with typography and animation.
updated my site to incorporate themes, something i’ve been wanting to do for a while! (also turned my “now” page to a “then” page, since i really don’t have interest in keeping it up lately.)
I just swept the cobwebs on my index.
Just put back the falling snow on my blog. Which you can turn on yourself, if you know where to look.
Hint: there’s a snowflake you can click on.
i finally have a OG-image generator in my backend!
so when i post a post link like this (example)
it’ll have the post’s title on it! (previosly it was hard-coded to use favicon as og-image)
a generated image looks like this (example)
I finally made my first site, I ended up just choosing neocities because, despite my months of research lol, I decided to just go with a host that had a lot of support and community. Here it is: https://digitalvulture.neocities.org/
It is so basic lmao, but still! Just starting is the hard part. Now I need to think about what to actually put in it.
Congratulations on publishing your first website! From humble beginnings, great things ![]()
I recently gave my neocities webpage a total makeover (redid the enter page, main page, everything), and am very happy about how it turned out~ i had to learn how scripts and iframes work, which turns out isn’t as hard as i thought it would be! definitely scary at first glance, though.
