Thanks for the kind words, all.
Heās a very special cat, and Iām absolutely gutted that this is happening to him. Heās such a sweet goofball⦠Hopefully it wonāt change his personality too much, because he is so good-natured and affectionate.
Iām so sorry about your elderly boy! I wish that everything goes smoothly and peacefully for both of you. Sending lots of love and kindness your way.
Iām so sorry to hear that, but the fact that he is pawing at you seeking attention is absolutely adorable and a sign that despite the dementia, heās still enjoying life. I got ten cats spread across two households (five living with my sister, and five with me and my partner) and dementia is a concern we have with our older ones (two 12-year-olds from the same litter). But like you said in your post, thatās the āleast badā of the bad.
Hoping to see more pics of him in your blog! :)
Itās not something I do very often. Got nerd-sniped by a friend to look into an old genetic algorithm by a computer pioneer called Nils Aals Barricelli, whoās almost forgotten today. Couldnāt make much sense of it, but itās a fun piece of history: Some code from a computer science pioneer.
I skimmed through but didnāt read through in great detail because looking forward to reading these with the kids in a couple years!
Itās time for another tiara post! This week Iām talking about the Mellerio Peacock Aigrette, which isnāt strictly a tiara but is absolutely fabulous. Also, one of its owners had a very interesting life! There are links in the rabbit hole to dive into that!
I wasnāt happy with how negative Moxie Moshpit was feeling, so I did a thing.
EDIT: I also posted my first proper rant.
This month I posted more often with quick notes and pics, which I do not classify as āblog postsā, but here are two recent ones that do:
+1 on using youtube too much :ā) i have used that website like every single day for hours for years. i use Unhooked but my user error is that iāll just turn it off whenever i have low willpower so⦠my goal is to eventually just have it so i only look at videos from my RSS and maybe once a month allow myself to scroll thru other channels
Nothing like a new blog and someone being a jerk on the internet to spark inspiration!
Hear, hear. Iāve been saying that for years, and itās true. Not everyone needs the internet.
Iām⦠not in an amazing mood. So, I tried to do some words, and this is what I came up with.
TADC episode 8 is out!
And uh
I need a sanity check here
I hadnāt heard of this and had to look it up. The way it looks and the descriptions of it donāt appeal to me, but Iām guessing the audience are very online edgy teens and Iām not one.
I have published a new weekly recap post, featuring: Eid al-Fitr, playing Beastieball for the first time, and enjoying things on purpose.
I wrote a little about the conundrum Iām experiencing when it comes to falling in love with a TV series based on a book, but being both impatient and no longer being much of a traditional reader thanks to disability.
It bums me out big time that these assholes are preying on freelancers when they could direct their efforts into going after the guys with actual money. I imagine many sellers on Fiverr are in a similar position to you and are literally just trying to make ends meet.
I hope you can get some honest clients and/or a job soon!
I have been out of the habit and pretty offline in a good way. Feeling spring really hard
The Weekly Wrap Up is posted! Links this week include the history of tarot cards, a game you play in a font and and some tips on how to be less awkward. My kitty visitor is still here but heāll be leaving on Saturday and I talk about news - what I read, how I judge the quality of the source and its bias and I give some links if youāre looking for independent journalism. The Link Lagniappe is still going strong! Plus, as usual, I listened to, read and watched things.
So far, taking my ānegativeā thoughts and putting them somewhere else has been working out really well. I feel like Iām even writing better instead of just spewing rage onto the page. This one is even more sad than angry, which is unusual for me, but I feel much better after writing it!
