Finally bothered to fix the image in my About page not displaying. Again.

Mainly did it to take screenshots of the current site for the Site History page in eventual preparation for version 2.2 of my site.

Working on my scrobble API. I want to implement a fake lastfm profile that fetches the data from my own database, so I’ve been adding functions that do things like display the top artists over a given period. All seems to be working pretty nicely. This is the first time I’ve used SQL for a project and I’m still amazed by how quickly it can sort and filter the data :woman_dancing:

It isn’t a visible change, but the navigation bar, the links and the website button list are now implemented using YAML, which will hopefully make it easier to change them.

Wiped all old content from it to start fresh. Also moved to a subdomain of my family domain.

Next up is reworking my weatherstation Page code, as it’s quite a Mess.

I got a lot of webweaving done this week. A few of the things I did I’ve been meaning to do forever and it feels so good to have finally done them!

  • Made a custom 404 page
  • Created a sitemap
  • Updated my credits page and changed it to a credits and resources section with an emphasis on 88x31 button resources

I also

  • Updated my yearly reading log and added a new helpful link to the Library page
  • Added a couple of links to cat cross stitch patterns on the Cats page
  • Added the last couple of cross stitch projects to the Cross Stitch page
  • Added buttons and links for sites I’ve recently followed to the Buttons and Links page

Took a couple of links off my top menu. Added an anti-AI badge to the footer. Removed a link from my “Read these” page because the target post disappeared (I’m looking at you, StarBreaker!). Sat here staring at the site, thinking about how I’m going to change it after I retire at the end of the year. https://concretelunch.info

Started working on a page about my disabilities

it’s far from finished at this point, but I supose it’s something I can send to people if they don’t understand my disabilities

also added some apache rewrite rules to redirect /page to /page.html

I love the bookshelf page so much! And your postcards are really cute!

I updated my /now page.
I also updated my Me page, which is an About Me page. I also moved it from me.html to /me
I also changed my link style to something with a dashed underline.

I also updated the profile page that I have linked to my Facebook profile. I don’t really use Facebook anymore, so this is a page I link to which is intended for IRL people like family, old friends, etc to go to. I gave it some significant attention, and formatted a few short updates at the top to look a bit like blog posts.

I previously had a JSON file format for my timeline entries, but I refactored it to use markdown files with YAML frontmatter for meta data, which i took inspiration from Obsidian.
That way I have the same format as my blog posts and it’s more approachable. And I can finally render the markdown as HTML to have some simple paragraphs, which was not possible before.

I set up my home server and it’s working?!! So much cooler than having everything on a VPS omg. I’ll let my little test HTML page sit there for a few days, but if everything still looks good after that I guess I’ll start transferring stuff to it.

Good job! I’ve thought about doing this myself, but my ISP’s TOS suggests that running HTTP, SMTP, and IMAP out of my house would be a lot of hassle. Tempted to set up a mirror of starbreaker.org as an onion site on Tor, though.
