…well! It’s been a hot minute! Exchange and travelling has taken my mind elsewhere. For now, I’ve added a new page to my neocities which was an experimental website I did for an assignment. Unfortunately only accessible on computers, but tbf it’s only slightly more incoherent on mobile XD

I’ve been working on my “dedication” page. Some rando decided to email me to say the previous version was cringe, so I decided to show them how we do cringe in New York.
Cringe is, after all, merely the larval stage of camp.

I took down the JetBrains Mono webfonts; now the site uses the local monospace font. While the webfonts did make the site look good, it wasn’t good enough to contend with the fact that it doubled the weight of almost every page.
After that, I compressed the UI images and default background tile, just for good measure.
Did you know that you can still have JetBrains Mono in your font stack, without using the web font, as long as you’ve got monospace as a fallback? If JetBrains Mono is installed on a visitor’s machine, and you’ve specified it, the browser will use that first. Likewise Berkeley Mono, Monaco, Menlo, Consolas, etc.

Hmm, I hadn’t thought of that. That’s actually a solid middle ground, thank you for pointing that out.
I finally made a fun page on Neocities (I had it parked forever), which in turn made me realize I want to be “slower” on the web and not really blog anymore. I feel back to my roots here <3

That collections page is a good idea. Sort of like curated categories.

I’ve rebranded my archive — now it’s Explore. You can search articles, filter titles, go random, or try the categories. And yes, there are categories for Star Trek and flags.

Nice touches. I’ve been looking at my /archive/ recently as part of my 27 refresh and wondering how to spice it up from a list of post titles and dates. Going to jack some of these ideas :)
