you can still order on the website! rolling orders now that the magazine is out. :)
when i click “Buy Spring 2025 Print & Digital Editions” it says “the link is no longer active” : (
thank you for letting me know!!! T-T it’s fixed now.
i thought it was on purpose at first LOL ty for fixing it <3
alright friends, i have now reached a point where i have Too Many story/article ideas and not enough time to write them before printing.
if anyone is up for writing something with a submission of august 22, please consider one of the topics below:
- interviewing the makers of the html review and an overview of the project since another issue came out in spring!
- a summary and overview of the internet phonebook; maybe exploring and writing up your experience; quotes from the creators would be amazing too.
- a random personal website review: choosing a site with a lot of content, explaining who the person is, and what kind of content they have on their website, maybe a little analysis if the website owner/you are up for it. ideally someone who isn’t a web developer by trade.
- a collection of web events with dates and overviews: regular, active events around the personal web that give people a chance to meet up with other people doing this hobby (e.g. indieweb’s front end study hall, melonland events, sunday sites, etc.).
- fedicon is happening in august: is anyone going? could someone do a write-up about it?
- best html tags: this can be a humor article or in earnest; what are some little-known uses of html tags that could be highlighted?
- an overview, definition, and examples of personal website components: shrines, blogrolls, art galleries, etc. inspiration for what people can put on their own website.
- a list & overviews of all the indieweb/small web/personal web newsletters that are out there!
- a summary of a recent project you launched, lessons you learned, etc. bonus points if it was your first personal web project!
if you do want to do one of these and can truly commit to submitting before august 22, please let me know and confirm with me–i’ll strikethrough this list if the topic ends up being taken.
[artists: if you want to create any digital art related to the topics above to submit, that would be incredible!!!]
if your story/art is published, you will get full credit, links to your website(s), and a free print copy of the magazine! :)
i’m letting folks know here since i know there’s been folks who have been asking how they can help. :) thank all of y’all so, so much.
For what it’s worth, @stefan’s Recurring Creative Challenges list could be a start on that.
I would be interested in doing the article on html elements :3
I’m thinking the details and summary element since they’re really powerful and lots of people use JS to achieve what details can already do.
I can also look into other elements and sprinkle them in at the end ^^
that would be so cool!!
Rather than a collection of all dates and events, I wonder if there could be a list of upcoming events from (day magazine is released) to (day next magazine is estimated to be released) could be less overwhelming to write, feel more ‘relevant’, and give more space to get deeper into what each event is perchance…
(As an aside, I’d like to take this idea I think. August 22nd is a perfectly reasonable deadline and I have some ideas on how I’d want to format/style a list like this already…)
(Am i allowed to take this idea if I already have an article submitted for this edition?)
hello, i wrote you an email please reply thank you
xandra just had surgery so just letting you know it may be a while ^^
I hope she’s okay
well, I’ll wait for her convalescence, like all of us
I know I already have one article maybe on hold (though, when things settle down a bit, we can chat to make sure it was up to standards!) but I would be very interested in writing something like this! I already have the rough outlines of a similar blog post in my drafts, so I could easily turn it into an article.
