February 2026 Website Updates: What did you do to your website today?

I’ve finished my first pass at my /hobbies page. This is an evolving project that I’ll add more to as time goes on! So far, it contains a few links to pages and articles relevant to hobbies in general, a couple of detailed sub-pages for some of my own hobbies (/blogging and /midi-controllers), and links to other specific hobby and hobby-adjacent pages I’ve found recently. Some of you here will recognize a few of those links.

(Apologies for the double post.)

ooooh thats a really useful page! makes me think i should make a page about how to start using vocal synths when you know nothing about them cause since ive been making covers with them a lot of people have expressed theyd like to try too but they dont seem to really know where/how to start

That’s a great page!

I love how you give ideas about why people might enjoy different hobbies :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Glad you think so, and a page on vocal synths would be neat! I know nothing about that, and would be interested in learning more. :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks!

a while back I made a functioning stardew valley TV, and now I made it into a widget for anyone to use. it’s got accurate weather and the fortune teller!

instructions are here: /codezone
the instructions tell you to make an openweathermap account and generate an API key, but you can also just use this api key if you just wanna test it out for a bit/don’t mind sharing

I believe I have successfully transfered my domain name for my rainbow site to my new host :3 It’s now hosted on nekoweb for their recently added SSI support! Thus I have also changed my sidebar code to use SSI to include an HTML file, replacing the JS I was using before.

Unrelated to the host change, but still on the same site, I changed how the dark/light mode works (instead of being all JS it uses HTML/CSS primarily, and only JS to save preference), and I updated the design! Its still rather similar, but the sidebar is no longer disconnected, the site links are no longer hidden under a dropdown, the background rainbow flows downward rather than to the left, and the accent color is a soft dusty blue color (for the rain of the rainbow ;3). I wanted it to be a little easier on the eyes, so the colors are a little gentler and the css accenting a little less cluttered.

(If the live site doesn’t match the new screenshot, you may have my old stylesheet cached, refresh the rainbow stylesheet to fix that)

I do want to update the primary rainbow page with More diagrams to illustrate why rainbows are circles, but I’d like to find a very simple 3D program where I can model a simple low poly sphere with visible grid lines and add planes

I have an insane rough draft of what I want to illustrate, but its drawn in 2D and I really would like to make a 3D animation so it is easy to understand whats going on

said incomprehensible rough draft

I love making diagrams, but 2D isnt gonna cut it for this one, I am also having trouble picturing how the plane the light sits on looks like as the drop is rotated.

Almost done with my new layout!! \o/ I’m super duper proud of it, and even happier with raving received help from the kind folks here!!

Soon the colors of everything will be changed as well as the font (when I understand how to add a custom one)

Here it is so far!

I have added a licence notice to my website:

woaahhh this is super duper cool!!! i would have never thought to display weather like this

i really like the colorblocking of how it looks already! and the contrast between the bold black text and bright colors is fun.

lmao congrats!! thats me but with my instagram handle, ive been waiting for this one guys inactive account to get deleted for YEARS.

today i finally got my forum ready enough for it to go live and now im showing it to a few friends so they can help me work out the kinks and think of features. i’m really excited! making a forum for my art friends is something i’ve wanted to do for a while now and im finally at the level where it mostly makes sense. today was mostly just me running around the internet like a headless chicken realizing that half the mods i planned to install are too outdated for the version of my forum software. but still! progress!!

ive kind of been neglecting my personal site tho because i’ve been so locked in… poor thing she misses me…

Oh! I have a little one I really like. A few days ago, I added CSS to Robb Knight’s post graph 11ty plugin on my homepage to make it rainbow! Hehe.
