I dropped this today.

I ain’t gay, but I’m cishet it’s probably more by habit than by inclination.

update: rather than changing the background colors, I’ve decided to eliminate the background and narrow text column in desktop mode. I still fly a Pride flag up top above the title of each page.

Nice! My plan is to combine both this IndieWeb Carnival & the upcoming Code Jam (ā€œDestination Vacationā€) into 1 post.

And I’m going to get on that… just as soon as I’m done with Report Cards (pls, someone, anyone! make them go away! :sob:)

This does a bit to confirm my suspicion that 24/7 broadband connections were a mistake, and that the internet was better for everyone when you connected with a modem over your phone line.

Nice summary of the month of May. Links to all my WeblogPoMo posts and a bunch of links to explore. Enjoy

Mmmmm I dunno! Broadband was a game changer… maybe before we were able to carry the internet around in our pockets….

I remember resisting getting a smart phone, back when they were new, because I predicted I would use it all the time. I was right, unfortunately!

Weekly Wrap Up 12

I talk about the unfairness of being short at concerts, the questionable decision of tour managers to book outdoor concerts during the Arizona summer, relate going through the mp3 collection to cleaning out a closet and talk about my potential dive back into a MMPORG.

I enjoyed reading this. Here’s a post I feel contrasts well with yours:

Yeah, I get that. I have toyed with the idea of having my posts in their own private repository thats then either included into the project as a git submodule, or pulled in as part of my own build process.

Ultimatly what people are interested in when they look at the source code of websites is how things have been made to work, not nessessarily the content itself.

Yeah unfortunately there’s always people that abuse the ability to do whatever they want and it’s honestly really sad. There’s not a lot you can do but just accept things as they are. I’ve personally come across a site like that and altho it was a bummer and a half, I’m glad I was able to get some reflection out of it.

I’ve kinda noticed that a lot of the internet is now about debates and winning them even though it’s completely arbritary, goading people to keep responding although it’s not worth your time. Idk how related this is, but just wanted to point it out.

as soon as 11ty allows separation of template and content I’m putting my content in a private repo.

I ended up quoting this post in a response to it.

You’re using git, right? Couldn’t you put your posts and pages in separate repositories now using git submodules?

Yeah I am, Eleventy will support this soon so I’ll wait for that. Git Submodules can be a headache that I’d like to avoid

Fair enough. If you’ve already tried Git submodules I don’t blame you for fnding them hemorrhoidal.

Glad you found it interesting!
