An interesting approach, but usually I would think if your site needs instructions for basic navigation then something has gone wrong.

It’s an interesting way to “reimagine” it, though by adding prompts when you click on the search bar, I think they’ve avoided making it too obscure and losing viewers.
Weird navigation aside, those are some pretty cool pieces!
