I, too, overthink what I say in my blog.

I’ve been pretty vocal in my tiara series about how I think diamond tiaras are plain and boring. I’m much more fond of the colorful and extra. But since it’s April and the birthstone this month is the diamond, I came up with 6 Diamond Tiaras I Don’t Hate.

I guess that gets better with time

My third microblog, I’m on fire!

Another blog this month : ) this time about why I don’t want to leave Neocities (though I have thought about it)–I’ve been having a lot of thoughts on internet community as a whole lately. I think community online is really important and often overlooked.

I’d really just say to make an account on firefox. It’s more convenient, and no matter what you’re trusting some endpoint to not eat shit suddenly.

I want to share my data with third parties as little as possible. You make a Firefox or Google account, log in across all your devices, and suddenly they have enough info to build a complete profile on you. I’d rather sacrifice convenience to truly own my data.
And I could host my own endpoint. Even if it goes down, I still have my data :face_savoring_food:

6 months of tracking my perfume usage

Upfront, this is probably extremely boring to others, but I’m having a great time. I’m sharing this months in particular because I rounded up more ~stats~ than the usual updates. Contains consumerism :yb_sad2: . I think in a couple months I’ll try to go into more what I’ve personally, mentally, been getting out of this. (Also I think everybody should try tracking some sort of habit or similar for some period of their life, it can be fun to discover trends.)

I found myself writing a blog post that’s a response to 3 different threads on here: Comment Culture, Bubbles.town, and “What are your thoughts on AI-assisted writing processes?

I do not think Nietzsche could have anticipated that Apollonian culture would best run on NVIDIA chips.

I adore this sentence. It’s fantastically constructed and hits with just the right amount and kind of feeling.

I’ve been exploring RSS these past month and I wrote a blog post with my findings! RSS Feeds and Where to Find Them . It had a really good reception on Pillowfort and I shared it with one of the admins of The BIG List of Neocities RSS Feeds who kindly added it to their resource page!

@ArimaMary Just so you know, it looks like the DW/PF/Mastodon links are broken. Good to see you here though.

Also @floral-tears personally I am always interested in more perfume blogging. Had not heard about the site Perfumo before until you mentioned it.

I’ll make sure to fix that in the new blog I’m coding! o7

I wrote a blog post about a new “Guess Who?” feature I added to powRSS, which is the public RSS feed aggregator I made last year!

Post: Pablo Enoc - Can you guess who wrote the blog post?

In this discovery mode you get a blog excerpt and you have to guess the author. Hoping it will help with discovering more indieweb writers

@DivergentRays Thank you <3 ! Also something I meant to share earlier; I love your tiara updates and was almost relieved at you not being into diamond tiaras, because I feel so similarly to diamond jewelry in general. I don’t utterly hate them, but most vintage diamond jewelry I see looks sort of like… sad and dusty. and especially on gold(which is 99% of the time); its in the same mental compartment visually as when I would find old cracked, yellowed glue or tape in my grandmothers house lol.

@Coyote Thank you too!! I made my account there a few months ago and have enjoyed it. Unfortunately it just doesn’t have anywhere near as large of a database or userbase as Fragrantica, but I like its organization better. I’m thinking I’ll compare the two of them in one of my PPP updates soon.

Oh my, I hope I haven’t disappointed you since I just admitted to liking a select few diamond ones!

I’m glad to hear that you’re liking the tiara posts! I’m doing them for me but I always enjoy finding out I have fellow tiara enthusiasts!

The Weekly Wrap Up is posted! Links this week include DOOM as a text adventure, a story about a jeweler and the golden egg that was his downfall and an artist who creates beautiful sculptures from old book pages and wheat paste. I talk about finding a recipe on an old Geocities site and trying it out, let you all know what I recently updated on the website, and talk about postcard clubs and penpals. Plus, as usual, I listened to, read and watched things.
