Anyone else like to do game jams?

Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone else here likes to do little game jams for fun? Or just making games in general. If you do, I’d love to see what you’ve made!!

I do! I mostly join zine jams, but my partner and I made An Individual Choice for the Single Choice Jam and Junk Mail Archaeology for the Scissors and Glue TTRPG Jam - Issue 2. I currently have my eye on the Dialogue Jam, but due to some health stuff I’m not sure I’ll have the time/energy.

Those are really neat!! Printing out the zine and studying it is such a unique idea for a game. I hope everything lines up to let you do the dialogue jam :slight_smile:

I’ve only done a few, mostly just as practice to get myself to learn Godot. I’ve got one attempt at a spooky game, one attempt at a platformer/escape room, and one attempt at an FPS. Definitely had fun making them!

id love to join a game jam at some point in the future. i dont have enough time to learn atm tho. i played around for a bit with löve cus i wanted to make a small game but thats also on my future to-do list. too many hobbies so little time ^^;

I have! So far I’ve joined 5 game jams. Usually i just end up with an artist role, but i’d like to participate as a developer one day. I tried godot a few years ago, and i think i should go back to it.
So far the only actual games ive made have been little visual novels, since those are really really easy to make if you use ren’py
I have a page for em but im planning on changing it sometime

Thats awesome!! I like your style and everything, it’s got a nice feel to it :smiley:

I haven’t gotten around to doing game jams as a part of a team just yet. I’m a little worried about falling behind or not doing a great job and tanking the group project, etc etc.

I’d definitely recommend trying Godot again! It’s been blowing up a lot recently, getting tons of new engine updates. They recently just came out with 4.4 i believe? Comes with 3D physics interpolation which I’m very excited about. :grin:
