I’m pleased to announce our latest project: webweav.ing! In line with our mission to make the indie web more accessible to newcomers, webweav.ing will be a collection of tools designed to ease pain points and add some fun to the web. You can log in with your 32-Bit Cafe account!
The first service is a hosted guestbook solution. With some popular guestbook services closing in recent years, this seemed like a good opportunity to create an alternative. The aim is to balance flexibility with ease of use to provide a quality experience for both the webmaster and commenters. One aspect of this is moderation tools. Currently users are able to delete or hide comments received, and in the future add a list of word filters for comments and either automatically delete them or require manual approval before publishing them.
Current features:
- Dashboard to manage your comments
- Disable comments for an amount of time or indefinitely
- Embed your guestbook to your website with a WebComponent or an iframe
- Optionally disable embedding if you prefer linking to your guestbook
