I created this website for my own use, with it also being one big lesson on Vim and using YAML files with Hugo. The primary goal of the site is to make somewhat obtuse gifting mechanic of Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball easier to deal with. I think the site reaches that goal, but there are still some things I’d like to add. You can see the to-do list on the homepage.
For those unfamiliar with this game, it is the first in a series of beach volleyball spinoff titles based on the Dead or Alive fighting games. The entire franchise, especially the “Xtreme” spinoff series, is heavily sexualized. There is no nudity featured on the site, but know what you’re getting into before clicking the link or looking into the series further. Each character page features the character in a bikini. I apologize if this post breaks rule #2.
This may be a long shot, since I doubt many people are still playing this strange game stuck on the original Xbox, but any feedback on the site’s functionality is appreciated. The whole point of the site is to be useful while playing the single player mode of the game. My Xbox out of commission, so I can’t test it myself. Feedback on the site’s design is welcome too. It was designed primarily around phone screens, which is a first for me. Thanks for checking it out.
