Webring or Directory?

this has not happened to me but i can totally see it being an issue, i also do not like linking to something from my site without my express input but its kind of unavoidable via webrings

yeah thats good idea! theres many quizzes from archived sites that are quite popular but i really want to highlight some quizzes made by people currently in the personal web space too, so categories like that or by interest would work well

yeah I noticed some of this too, I think it’s actually not a bad idea at all (I LOOOOVE finding people into the same games, movies, etc as me) but it seems there’s not enough fans wanting to join said webrings to justify them being webrings. Maybe if the webrings were for fansites of the thing specifically that would make more sense.

I actually think you make a great point, but I do feel I am not technologically savvy enough to keep the webring trouble-free. and I think I’d include sites that have quiz results on them but maybe dont make quizzes themselves too.

yeah totally agree!! i remember seeing a Mass Effect webring that looked so cool but sadly it was more like a fanlisting, which is great BTW, i love fanlistings, but I was ready to see some ME fansites LOL

that is true, some webrings are very broad which is nice because i like when there are fewer barriers to entry but it also doesn’t really give incentive to keep browsing as much

For real LOL! Im debating between calling it ā€˜QuizRing’ or ā€˜QuizDirect’, both sound nice to me but maybe Ring has a better…. ring to it (you can now legally kill me)? Perhaps I will scheme and lie, call it QuizRing when its a directory in reality.

These are excellent names, I actually feel like im in a spooky Western and I love it!

I totally agree with Sainthood about that, I think quizzes are quite niche but if in some kind of madness everyone starts loving quizzes Id rather just start as a directory that have to move there eventually
