watermarking images

im preparing to put my wardrobe obsidian online and im starting to wonder if i should watermark my outfit images… i don’t think im really famous enough that people would want to steal my pictures specifically but its not uncommon to see images from old blogs and such on inspiration boards so maybe it will happen to me too. im just not sure if my name in the corner is enough or if i should try to have them closer to the “main” content (since a lot of my pictures have large background space) and/or if i should put an url in there

if you watermark images on your website id love to know what you decided on

I’ve taken to watermarking my artwork specifically because I started finding it on other websites without attribution. Not “being famous enough” actually works in the inverse: that makes it more desirable to steal images/video/etc. and pass it off as their own because a quick reverse image search more than likely wouldn’t show anything else.

oh yeah but i mean my face is on there and i dont think people 1re thinking “i have GOT to impersonate juette for clout” while passing off art or non-face photos as your own is easier

You’d be surprised how low bottom-feeders sink for attention/fraud. Especially if its eye-catching enough.

with ai and everything if someone reaaaally wanted to use my pictures specifically they could probably do it watermark or not … im moreso thinking that if someone sees one of my outfits on a different platform for whatever reason and wants to see more they can go to the url written on it

That’s sensible, as well.
