This is why the indie web is so great. A while ago someone emailed me asking if i knew anything about a small engineering works that later made agricultural sprayers.
Later, I got an email from someone who probably knows all there is to know about vintage garden sprayers… An unusual site, just a few HTML pages but most of it is PDFs.
That site led me to another all about Vintage Lawnmowers!
Some people have some strange hobbies and have far too much time on their hands! Yay for them!

Absolutely! These are the sort of sites that made me fall in love with the vintage web (Web 1.0). And I think these sites are what got me into building so many directories over the years.
People have so many odd niche interests that they have a lot of knowledge about, and the Web let’s us share our interests with the world. Don’t doubt yourself and think your hobby or interest won’t be interesting or useful to others. You never know what somebody else will find interesting, and even if your niche site only gets 10 visitors a year you had the fun of making it.
