That’s a great question. Permanence is something I take seriously, which is why I have multiple layers of backups. I generate three backups daily on my server and also upload copies to cloud storage, as I’m a firm believer that you never have too many.
On top of backups, I have two close friends—one in another state, one in another country—who have full access to my server. If something ever happened to me, they could step in and keep my site running.
Having multiple backup hosts and a solid contingency plan is key.
