If you use Letterboxd, now’s a good time to export your data and look for alternatives. Once it gets sold, it’ll start getting crappier.

Good excuse to replace your letterboxed with a new page in your website (assuming you are happy with it public)

The phone app for letterboxd was really convenient for writing down my thoughts immediately. I also briefly had a script to read its rss feed onto my site which was also really nice, anyone knows a similar alternative?
stg why does every good service get sold off and made worse
Agh, come on. Well, I should have seen this coming. The site has grown quite a lot.
Sad news.
I’ve been trying out Yamtrack (self-hosted).
yeah, this has been rumored for a while and i honestly dont even like letterboxd now so i can only imagine how much worse its gonna get…i might just do analog media logging like i used to cuz every digital service is seriously lacking

I have used this service very rarely. For the past few months, I’ve been using my own blog to keep track of the movies and TV shows I watch.
Seconding this! I love tinkering around with my media logs page. It’s a little more work than letterboxd, but at least I know it’s never going to be gobbled up and enshittified by some corporate ghoul.
