My problem is the fact that the pixel font (headings and theme selector) on my phone is displaced, shifted upwards from where it is on my computer (notice how the boxes are no longer aligned with the text). The same thing happens on the work computer on both firefox and chrome.
Why does this happen and is there a way to fix it?
Edit: fixed this by replacing the font file itself (same font, made by someone else)
Hmm. I’m not able to help troubleshoot right now, but for what little it’s worth, I am also getting the displaced behavior on an Android tablet running Firefox 152.0.6, in landscape orientation.
I’m no CSS wizard, but my brain loves a good troubleshooting puzzle, and this might help me stretch my own skills, so I’ll see if I can find time later this week to poke at it.
I did try that but to no avail I did find a stack exchange thread where I learned that sometimes fonts are displayed slightly differently device to device, and in some cases in ways that can’t be fixed by css. I think that may have been my issue.
So I tried replacing the font file with a different one (just did so a few minutes ago), still the same Minecraft font, but just put together by someone else. It actually solved my issueas far as I can tell (only tested on my computer and phone as of now)
Thank you both Coyote and @EssDub for taking the time to look and reply!
interesting… it didn’t happen when i looked on my computers (linux mint + firefox, windows 10 + firefox (and tried chrome as well)) or on my phone (android + firefox). i also tried using the browser tools mobile simulator on both computers and it didn’t do it there either! maybe it’s only with some versions of the browser(s), or something to do with the devices themselves…? i really don’t know.
sorry i can’t help, hopefully more datapoints are useful at least :(
@ceets and @xixxii sorry I should have marked this thread as solved last night, I ended up replacing the font itself (same Minecraft font, but just made by someone else) and it appears to have worked. It worked for my phone and computer, and it seems it worked on your devices as well ^^ Not sure why the previous font was doing that, but I’m just glad this one isn’t.
