Early Web Links

I found this site via MetaFilter and was absolutely delighted to find my Government Cats and Riot Dogs page listed. Out of all the pages on my site, that one is my favorite. (Don’t tell the other pages - it’s like declaring a favorite child.)

Anyway, this is a one person project and it’s just a directory. There are no rankings and you don’t have to be a user of another ecosystem to participate. Just explore categories and see what’s out there! Per his About page:

The site runs an automated crawler that follows links across the web, looking for pages that have that old-web feel. It checks webrings, blogrolls, link directories, and personal sites (because people who make personal sites tend to link to other personal sites). When it finds something that fits, it gets categorized and added to the directory.

What a fantastic find! I was stoked to see they’d featured my homepage as “homepage of the week” back in April!

Will spend some time digging through this for some new links.

Metafilter seems like a decent place for discovery too!
