Fonts! Do you want fonts? Fonts from the late 90s? These are not what we might now think of as “y2k” fonts, because that term has become associated with a clean, sleek, retro-futuristic aesthetic. These fonts are instead very evocative of a different aesthetic that was common in the early 00s, one I associate with US indie music. Many of the fonts are hand-drawn and a little uneven, which creates a certain feeling of homeyness and intimacy (or tweeness if you want to be unkind). I find them very interesting and many of them still look great.
You can download a zipfile with all the fonts in them from the internet archive (although you might have to change what year you’re looking at to make the connection work). They’re just ttf files but I’m sure that with transfonter you could convert them to webfonts.
