I Love the Job Market and All the Great Opportunities it Has

I’ve written up my response to this month’s Indie Carnival event here:

So this is also your reminder to write and post your response if you intend to participate

I really relate to this having just made a similar move. There is so much I took for granted in Florida winters. Seasons have such intensity here and they’re worth listening to

Thanks for sharing, I really enjoyed this :slightly_smiling_face:

The point about archiving is a good one. A big part of my motivation for building my websites with a simple tech stack is because I’d like to think someone might want to keep them around someday.

When Adventure Gamers got taken over by a crappy gambling company, it prompted me to go looking for another small adventure games site I did actually used to visit: Quandary.

It went offline in mid-2008 but was mirrored by another site. However, I discovered that site is now offline and has been excluded from the way back machine. Luckily I was able to find what I could of the original site on there.

With the Wayback machine being hit with downtime itself this past year, my plan was to archive this little site myself. You’ve just reminded me I need to clean up those files and get them back online!

(EDIT: I think it’s also archived by the Australian Trove project which is awesome)

Bonus: An idea from the past – subdomain subletting

I talk and think about this a lot. I’d love to see this become a thing again. Cpanel accounts for everyone :raising_hands:

I did that 100 Questions for Webmaster survey that’s been floating around. Everyone I’ve seen do it are so fresh to the personal web that I almost got a case of the “I’m basically the cryptkeeper!”s filling it out.

The Weekly Wrap Up is posted! Links this week include a highlight of a few of the 44 dinosaur species discovered this year, a Cloudflare Error Page Generator and teaching rats to play DOOM. I had a lovely week with my kitty visitor and started a new/old cross stitch project (without first finishing the other 2 I’ve been waffling about). Plus, as usual, I listened to, read and watched things.
