I enjoyed reading this. It has watered a few thoughts I’ve had germinating in my own mind, in particular about internet nostalgia (what gets labeled as nostalgic, what doesn’t, and what are the uses of nostalgia as an aesthetic). I resonate with this post a lot. I feel like making my website my focal point in the wider internet is like coming home. I’ve written a couple of blog posts of my own that touch on how having my own site has made whatever is happening on social media feel less intense and I can more easily disengage.
Thank you for sharing this Xandra.
