I never regret spending an evening writing something on my blog, even though I have maybe 15 readers (you know who you are - I appreciate you!)
I think having your own personal site is one of the most rebellious things you can do these days, and I think spending time writing a post is a middle finger raised to AI and the people who have a machine create a page of drivel for them.
one of the things i love about blogging is how looking over prompts someone wrote and picking one can bring thoughts and words out of me. it is fun every time
People nowadays don’t realize the power that comes from having your output living outside the social media zeitgeist. When you have your own space, you are beholden to no one but yourself. There’s no moderation body/agent monitoring what you say and flagging it for removal.

I really enjoy how i can make a blog as short or as long as Id like. No need to censor myself or try to curate for social media / algo. I also enjoy that I can layout the text how id like. the freedom of self-blogging is awesome!
Agreed wholeheartedly! Would love nothing more than to see a renaissance in personal blogs and expression online.
Feels like ~10, 15 years ago “internet fatigue” wasn’t ubiquitous yet. Now almost everyone can relate to the nagging feeling that somewhere out there is more freedom.
I have a lot of hobbies, but blogging is definitely my favourite, partly because it gives me a way to share all my other hobbies and interests! It’s so multidisciplinary, too. I get to design UX/UI, I get to code scripts, I get to meet amazing people (like the ones on this forum) and I get to write whatever the hell I want!
putting down my thoughts is nice sometimes ig
