I was literally trying to find a good “ransom note” font that worked as a webfont recently, but they were all very much display fonts that had little artefacts that when sized down, made the fonts muddy.
This has solved that issue.

Hmm… I’m a bit concerned about the licensing situation, at least from the fact that the interface shows system fonts initially. Even though system fonts come on one’s computer, they’re not technically free, and they’re not even open-source.
If they had only fonts from Google Fonts on the drop-down menu then it wouldn’t really be a problem at all. Of course, YMMV when it comes to uploading fonts.
Interesting concept nonetheless.
Side note: Wei Huang got away with making Times New Bastard because it uses open-source clones of Times New Roman and Helvetica, not the actual fonts themselves, so the licensing situation is fine. I double checked to make sure the site was using those clones before making this post, and they weren’t, they were using the real proprietary versions.
You can add Google Fonts with a button towards the bottom of the page.
